Ze'ef Jabotinsky's legacy in Zionism is complex. While he is revered by many for his foresight, leadership, and commitment to Jewish self-reliance, his militant approach and territorial maximalism have also been subjects of criticism. His ideological heirs founded the Herut party, which later evolved into Likud, a major political party in Israel today, thus ensuring that Jabotinsky's ideological imprint on Israeli politics and society endures.

The Likud Party is the political party of Benjamin Netanjahu.

His ideology emphasized the need for Jewish self-defense and the establishment of a Jewish majority on both sides of the Jordan River, which included the contemporary territories of Israel and Jordan.

Ze'ef Jabotinsky considered the Israel Project a colonialist project. He writes:

"My readers have a general idea of the history of colonisation in other countries. I suggest that they consider all the precedents with which they are acquainted, and see whether there is one solitary instance of any colonisation being carried on with the consent of the native population. There is no such precedent.

The native populations, civilised or uncivilised, have always stubbornly resisted the colonists, irrespective of whether they were civilised or savage."

Ze'ef Jabotinsky believed, that the Palestinians will resist, he expected it and wanted the Zionists to be prepared, that they were going to have to apply force to colonize Palestine. He said: "All Natives Resist Colonists"
